Requirement Assessment
Assessing the requirements involves meeting with the end users, typically those who will use the BI dashboard, to determine information needs. The assessment will also require understanding of the technology and condition of the underlying data stores.
ICA consultants work with the customer to:

	• Define a framework for the business intelligence data gathering exercise. This will involve facilitation of workshops to agree on the extent of the BI requirement and avoid any bias towards specific data
	• Understand the underlying data sources; their data types, the periodicity of update, the technical condition and availability of the data
	• Identify data joins that will be necessary to drive the information requirements of the BI environment font>
	• Define the main attributes of the presentation layer ensuring that the dashboard requirements and drill-down capability are understood

	• The interface technology to the underlying data repositories ensuring that the most appropriate solution (data warehouse or operational data store) is selected
	• The main attributes for the presentation layer graphics are supported with the appropriate dashboard facilities
	• Data aggregation for the BI environment and responsibilities for the underlying data i.e. who will attest to the data's accuracy and provide explanation for anomalies
	• Statistical analysis within the BI environment ensuring that the technology can support multi-variant correlation if required.

Implementation Assistance
